How to use the transliteration
Both transliterations on this page are reading aids, not pronunciation systems. If you read Arabic, ignore them and read the line above. They follow two different conventions, because they come from two different sources.
The word-by-word cards use long vowels ā ī ū and diacritics to distinguish Arabic consonants: for example, ḥ represents ح and ṣ represents ص. In the Corpus convention, an apostrophe can represent hamzah or mark sukūn (no following vowel); ʿ represents ʿayn. Thus the apostrophe in us'kun does not indicate a hamzah. See the Corpus transcription guide.
The full-ayah transliteration is quoted from its source, which doubles the vowel letter instead of using a macron and does not mark the heavy letters. The same word there reads kun, and qāla reads Qaala. We keep the source’s spelling rather than re-spell a quoted text, with two exceptions. That edition transposes two letters at the end of ayah 19 and runs two words together at the end of ayah 24, so we print minaz zaalimeen and ilaa heen where it has minza zaalimeen and ilaaheen. Both follow the edition’s own spelling elsewhere in this passage — it writes minal and minan at ayat 20, 21 and 23. Those two corrections are ours, not the source’s, and a reader who knows Arabic still needs to check them. Everything else in these lines is left exactly as the edition has it, including spellings that look odd.
Use either aid alongside the recitation. Listen to the reciter for pronunciation; transliteration cannot capture every recitation detail.
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
7:19
quran.com ↗وَيَٰٓـَٔادَمُ ٱسْكُنْ أَنتَ وَزَوْجُكَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ فَكُلَا مِنْ حَيْثُ شِئْتُمَا وَلَا تَقْرَبَا هَٰذِهِ ٱلشَّجَرَةَ فَتَكُونَا مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
And "O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise and eat from wherever you will but do not approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers."

Wa yaaa Aadamus kun anta wa zawjukal Jannata fakulaa min haisu shi'tumaa wa laa taqrabaa haazihish shajarata fatakoonaa minaz zaalimeen

7:20
quran.com ↗فَوَسْوَسَ لَهُمَا ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ لِيُبْدِىَ لَهُمَا مَا وُۥرِىَ عَنْهُمَا مِن سَوْءَٰتِهِمَا وَقَالَ مَا نَهَىٰكُمَا رَبُّكُمَا عَنْ هَٰذِهِ ٱلشَّجَرَةِ إِلَّآ أَن تَكُونَا مَلَكَيْنِ أَوْ تَكُونَا مِنَ ٱلْخَٰلِدِينَ
But Satan whispered to them to make apparent to them that which was concealed from them of their private parts. He said, "Your Lord did not forbid you this tree except that you become angels or become of the immortal."

Fawaswasa lahumash Shaitaanu liyubdiya lahumaa maa wooriya 'anhumaa min saw aatihimaa wa qaala maa nahaakumaa Rabbukumaa 'an haazihish shajarati illaaa an takoonaa malakaini aw takoonaa minal khaalideen

quran.com ↗فَدَلَّىٰهُمَا بِغُرُورٍۢ ۚ فَلَمَّا ذَاقَا ٱلشَّجَرَةَ بَدَتْ لَهُمَا سَوْءَٰتُهُمَا وَطَفِقَا يَخْصِفَانِ عَلَيْهِمَا مِن وَرَقِ ٱلْجَنَّةِ ۖ وَنَادَىٰهُمَا رَبُّهُمَآ أَلَمْ أَنْهَكُمَا عَن تِلْكُمَا ٱلشَّجَرَةِ وَأَقُل لَّكُمَآ إِنَّ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنَ لَكُمَا عَدُوٌّۭ مُّبِينٌۭ
So he made them fall, through deception. And when they tasted of the tree, their private parts became apparent to them, and they began to fasten together over themselves from the leaves of Paradise. And their Lord called to them, "Did I not forbid you from that tree and tell you that Satan is to you a clear enemy?"

Fadallaahumaa bighuroor; falammaa zaaqash shajarata badat lahumaa saw aatuhumaa wa tafiqaa yakhsifaani 'alaihimaa minw waraqil jannati wa naadaahumaa Rabbuhumaaa alam anhakumaa 'an tilkumash shajarati wa aqul lakumaaa innash Shaitaana lakumaa 'aduwwum mubeen

quran.com ↗قَالَا رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَآ أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ
They said, "Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers."

Qaalaa Rabbanaa zalamnaaa anfusanaa wa illam taghfir lanaa wa tarhamnaa lanakoonanna minal khaasireen

quran.com ↗قَالَ ٱهْبِطُوا۟ بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّۭ ۖ وَلَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُسْتَقَرٌّۭ وَمَتَٰعٌ إِلَىٰ حِينٍۢ
[Allah] said, "Descend, being to one another enemies. And for you on the earth is a place of settlement and enjoyment for a time."

Qaalah bitoo ba'dukum liba'din aduwwunw wa lakum fil ardi mmustaqarrunw wa mataa'un ilaa heen
